Spooning Circle

  • House of Togetherness 14-16 Betterton St London WC2H 9BU United Kingdom (map)

As one of the signature activities at Togetherness events Mass Spooning has proved so popular we realised it was worthy of its own regular evening. Join us for this 90 minute session where you can connect, get cosy with others and perhaps even make new friends.

We know that touch helps to regulate the nervous system, stimulate the immune system and is vital to wellbeing. In our culture, we often don't know how to ask for it even within our intimate relationships.

Mass Spooning is a way of bringing people together, beyond gender, race, sexuality, beliefs, through a portal of playfulness into a deep, relaxing stillness.

Men and women often have stigmas about touching each other so we start by breaking those down by pairing up and slowly going into some eye contact followed by standing spoon. Then we form a circle and lay down on the foam floor, supported by cushions and bean bags and drop into a deep communal spoon. This is supported by music and guidance from the host. At half time we turn round and spoon the other way.

At the end there is an open discussion about the experience which all in all takes 90 minutes. In this, like all Togetherness sessions, touch is entirely optional and personal sovereignty is promoted throughout.

There will be an optional hang out and group drinks or dinner afterwards.

This session will be photographed and may be featured in a well known women's magazine. By attending you are giving your consent to your likeness being used for media purposes.

House of Togetherness is the pop-up Home of Human Connections in Covent Garden, here for just 3 months. We create live experiences that explore our relationship with ourselves and others in a playful, meaningful and often profound way.

We welcome everyone beyond their identity, labels and beliefs. There are no shoulds or musts at HoT only permission to be yourself.

What You Should Bring
