Foundations of Connection: a four week course in Togetherness
Connection is an essential human need just like food and water. Relating to ourselves and others in a healthy way supports us to not just feel healthy, happy and whole, but also vibrant, alive and free!
Often the skills we need to do this are missing from our upbringing. From a young age we are conditioned to go along with things, not make a fuss and to keep quiet rather than rocking the boat by saying what we actually think, want or feel. In our adult lives this can lead to a gap between who we are and who we pretend to be.
This 4 week course explores what prevents us from connecting and teaches techniques to overcome this. It provides solid foundations for togetherness in your life. It will help you to relate authentically with people at work, to family, friends and romantic partners.
The skills that you learn here will stand you in good stead for the rest of your life. Each week we explore a different area with enquiry, experiences and practices that can be taken and used in your every day life.
It has been carefully designed with all the learning we’ve had from running Togetherness experiences over the past 2 years.
Week 1 Listening
Learn how to listen really well, to yourself and others. Explore how much permission you have to be yourself, where you are on the continuum of connection, where you would like to be and how to get there in any given moment.
Week 2 Speaking
Get in touch with what you are really thinking and feeling and learn how to express it clearly and cleanly. Learn techniques to create safe containers for truthful conversations with others.
Week 3 Personal Sovereignty
Learn and practice the fundamentals of what we want and do not want. Explore yes and no and boundaries in a fun and empowering way. Learn how to ‘Stay Sovereign Baby!’
Week 4 Sexuality, Self-Expression, Playfulness
Using the foundations on the previous weeks we put them all together in an experiential evening themed around self-expression and playfulness.
The course is led by counsellor and intimacy coach Adam Wilder.
House of Togetherness
House of Togetherness is the pop-up Home of Human Connections in Covent Garden, here for just 3 months. We create live experiences that explore our relationship with ourselves and others in a playful, meaningful and often profound way.
We welcome everyone beyond their identity, labels and beliefs. There are no shoulds or musts at HoT only permission to be yourself.
