Intimacy Jam By Sex Club
Are you touch hungry?
Our culture provides for meeting all other needs, especially the need for autonomy, but not for intimacy. It still stigmatises sexuality and the majority of us has difficulties talking about it in detail. What some psychologists term "skin hunger" (also known as touch hunger) is a need for physical human contact. Although many people sate their skin hunger through sex, skin hunger isn't exactly a sexual need. Satisfying your skin hunger requires you to have meaningful physical contact with another person, and failing to observe your need for human touch can have profound emotional, even physical, consequences.
Intimacy Jam by Sex Club, is both conversational AND experiential. Come listen, share experiences and knowledge, and let us guide you through simple exercises & games to reclaim, deepen and redefine intimacy towards yourself and others. Leave feeling more connected, empowered, and with practices to continue at home.
Come by yourself, with your friend(s), lover(s), partner(s).
Together Juliane Mueller and Chloe Wisdom from Sex Club bring you Intimacy Jam at the Togetherness Summer Festival this year. Juliane is a facilitator for transformational spaces and an avid community activist/artist, Julia believes sexual liberation is at the heart of individual transformation, without which there can be no meaningful societal progress. This is what led to her starting Sex Club, a conversational and experiential group space to normalise talking about sex and its nuances, to share knowledge and experiences, and to redefine sexuality as a spectrum. She is an experienced space holder, having co-founded an intentional community in London and having received training in non-violent communication, co-counselling and mindfulness-based resilience. She is also a co-founder of playground, an online education source and engagement platform for sexuality and intimacy due to launch this summer.
Julia’s artistic and personal enquiry is the authentic expression of self through creativity, intellect, emotion and sexuality. She consults on collective experience design at festivals, transformational co-created events and artist residencies. Spending 10 years in the corporate tech industry before her calling into the nonprofit sector and her remembering of being an artist, as we all are.
Chloe is a somatic sex therapist, facilitator, and events consultant. As a therapist, her intention is to enable people to explore the special connection between their sexuality, creativity and well-being, often in and through relationships, and always using the body as a tool for transformation. Along with Juliane is also a co-founder of Playground.
She uses a combination of somatic and creative approaches including Dance Movement Psychotherapy, Shadow Work and Conscious Kink, Tantra, Creative Arts, Bodywork, Mindfulness and Play Therapy. In her events and consultancy work, she combines her therapeutic skills, knowledge with traditional events management/production and her ability as a facilitator/space holder, to create powerful transformational experiences for groups at workshops and parties.
